My highly challenging goal for my personal project, is to create a successful clothing line, and sell at a pop-up shopping event sponsored by the company ZU-BIZU. In order to accomplish what I want to, I had to meet with several people in order to understand how pop-up events work. I first researched out to several brands that have consistently been joining events sponsored by ZU-BIZU, and I found that, Sien Sisters (a swimwear based brand) has joined almost all shopping events. After finding their contact information which is on their social media account, I called them requesting for a meeting to talk about what I could do in order to sell at such events. Some of the questions I asked them were: How did you know that the level your brand was on was enough to be able to join a pop-up event? In your first selling experience, what was the major difficulties you faced?, Do you know what ZU-BIZU, specifically as a company is looking for in brands? I was able to get an answer to my questions which are helping me reach my goal.
The second interview I made was with, Canan Koksal whom has her own pop-up event company. The majority of the pop-up events she makes are sponsored by ZU-BIZU. After organising an interview, I met with her to talk to her about what I am doing, and what I want to achieve. I thought that she best would know about the brands management groups of pop-up events, and she could advise me on how they judge and consider brands. Ms. Koksal, was very sweet and helpful with my goal, she that the most important part that contributed the most was the meeting I was going to have with ZU-BIZU, the way I presented my self, and most importantly how well I knew what I was talking about.
Purpose: The purpose of these interviews was to investigate and learn about what is required in order to reach my highly challenging goal, and how I can be prepared.
Value: Both, interviews hold extensive value, and have taught me a lot. I knew before beginning my investigation stage, that I would need to conduct interviews and meet with people I didn’t know. Organising these meeting and talking with individuals who could professionally assist me was a very different experience which taught me how to interact with others in a professional manner. From my first meeting with Canan Koksal, I learned the fundamentals of what the brands management group is look for. Whereas, in my second interview with Sien Sisters, I understood what the internal steps brands have to take, and the possible conflicts they could encounter.
